50:50 The Equality Project was created by the BBC for the Media industry, as a voluntary monitoring system, with the target of creating content which fairly represents the audiences it serves. Now, the BFC is applying the core principle of using data to effect change in the fashion industry, starting with LFW September 2021.

Designer businesses involved with LFW will be supported to participate, by collecting the diversity data of their teams at LFW, from design teams and hair and makeup to models, production, comms and more, and using this data to benchmark and track progress in terms of reflecting the audiences, consumers and communities they serve and employ. The BFC will also be collecting, benchmarking and tracking it’s own progress in order to participate in the initiative. This project will be ongoing, continuing with each LFW, which will help benchmark not only individual teams, but the fashion industry as a whole, and use data to positively impact representation across the industry.
